Wimbledon No.2 Court

DAWSON-WAM installed a sheet piled retaining wall for main contractor Galliford Try during this phase of the ongoing improvements programme at the All England Tennis Club, Wimbledon. The refurbished Number 2 Court reopened for Summer 2009 Wimbledon Fortnight, providing stadium typeseating for 4000.

The sheet piles are Arcelor AZ17 type and approximately 11m long. Installation into the underlying London Clay, utilised one of DAWSON-WAM’s ABI flexible format 18/21 leader rigs. The wall length is approximately 165m. Installation period was over a 4 week period.
