Harbour and Marine

DAWSON-WAM undertake a variety of specialist harbour and marine contracts as main contractor. These range from the construction of entire harbours to new dock walls and anchor piles for floating pontoons. DAWSON-WAM have the in house expertise and plant capable of installing:

  • Anchored combi-piled quay walls
  • Anchored sheet piled quay walls
  • Pre-cast concrete and cast-in-situ capping beam units
  • Deck slabs
  • Cathodic protection
  • Dredging
  • Rock armour revetments/sea defences
  • Crane rails

In addition DAWSON-WAM can carry out all associated civil enginnering works including mooring dolphins, fenders, decking, pedestrian walkways, lighting towers, street furniture and security railings to compliment any new harbour or marina. DAWSON-WAM constructed the Stormont Wharf Extension for the Port of Belfast in a design and build contract.
DAWSON-WAM installed 36nr 406mm dia. tubular steel piles up to 25m in depth, in a major improvement project at the Milford Haven Marina.
The construction of a new sheet-piled quay wall some 200 metres in length and some 14 metres on the tidal water side of an existing quay structure. The contract included the demolition of the old quay structure and the reclaiming for use of some 2,500m2 of land between the old and new quay walls.
